Welcome to Pictus Stud
All at Pictus Stud welcome you to our new website and hope you enjoy the ride!
We take great pride in breeding allsorts of allsports horses. We use only the best mares, sired by prolific stallions such as Welton crackerjack, Welton Ambassador, Jumbo,Dance with Wolves,Stanhopes Diddicoy who have either proven themselves on the competion scene,and/or have an amazing personality.
We carefully select temperament and trainability as standard, and colour as the finishing touch. Spotted Sports horses is our newest venture.
We breed in the purple and hope our future clients will keep us informed of their horses future as we believe in what we sell and would like to follow all our horses careers, whatever that may be.
We are a professionally run, family business based in the heart of Cheshire, where the horses come first and live in a naturally based environment as much as possible; that includes all of our 5 stallions. Stonedge El Supremo, Falko, Rudgeway Silver Gilt, Covdale Aspen and Broomells Surf Prince.
Let me introduce ourselves.
I am Louise Paterson the proprietress of our livery yard as well the stud. I am also a freelance instructor to lots of lovely clients. I have evented for a number of years, and have the honour of being trained by Mark Todd,Rachel Bayliss,Gareth Hughes,Dorothy Johnson and Joanna Jackson, to name but a few. I can only hope I have not let them down over the years. Words are not enough to thank them for all the help and inspiration they have given me over the years, and are continuing to do so.
Jake, my eldest son, who is currently at Hartpury University studying Equine Dental Science BSc(hons) having a great time; but missing the chance to event his stallion Falko. I am looking forward to all our horses having sparkly white teeth and of course he will be available to all in the future
Ben, my youngest, who is currently studying for his A levels. He is hoping to go to university to study veterinary science. He is not having such a great time as he hardly gets the chance to ride his stallion Roger. It will be worth all the hard work as he is determined to get involved with embryo transfers..the future!
